Cylogistics, Mountain View, Calif., a provider of high-performance,
high-quality telephony hardware and software, has introduced its
TrueLine Telephony SoftSwitch, a carrier grade Class 5 softswitch that
delivers a centralized VoIP solution for carriers and service providers.
"This solution supports that current Class 5 technology, while
also offering the cost-effectiveness and customizability to allow CLECs
to offer the VoIP services that customers are beginning to expect,"
said Don Witt, president and CEO at Cylogistics. "This solution
costs at least 20 percent less than competing solutions from competing
hardware vendors. This higher level of service and lower cost expands
the market that a traditional CLEC can reach to a whole new level."
The TrueLine SoftSwitch features a scalable and distributed
architecture to enable carriers to affordably and effectively deliver
the next-generation VoIP services that customers are demanding. The
solution helps carriers implement an affordable softswitch solution and
then expand services later as desired with only a software upgrade.
With support for multi-vendor VoIP media equipment, complex routing
and a PSTN interconnect, this flexible and innovative softswitch
solution delivers a wide range of VoIP enabled services, including least
cost routing, and national and international wholesale traffic. The
TrueLine Telephony SoftSwitch creates a seamless interconnect between
VoIP end points in situations in which direct communication between the
two end points is impossible. The system's Media Gateway Controller
can accept calls directly to and from end points, gatekeepers/ proxy
servers, gateways and switches.
Support for the MGCP protocol delivers a clientless management
system that saves time and trouble by allowing UDP parameters to be
managed, maintained and routed via a Web browser. The softwitch also
supports a variety of industry standard protocols, including SIP and
IAX, as well as all the major codecs, such as G711 and G729.
The TrueLine SoftSwitch is designed to maximize uptime and provide
safeguards against service interruptions. Since up-time is critical,
Cylogistics created dual plane architecture that creates a full carrier
grade redundant architecture. The VoIP interconnect, which is divided
into two gateway planes, appears as a single entity to the network. This
system design ensures against a single point of failure and maintains
active calls across the interconnection even in the event of a hardware
or software failure.
The softswitch, which integrates a complex SIP Proxy component, can
be readily integrated into existing infrastructure from leading vendors
including Cisco, Nortel and others. It supports TCP/UDP solutions to
allow CLECs offering Direct Inward Dialing (DID) or dial tone services
to their network of customers to readily leverage the services of Tier 1
vendors, such as Level 3. The TrueLine SoftSwitch supports NAT
correction, destination routing and packet sanitizing in a single
security-rich custom Linux distribution.
The system is available in either a compact or an extended form
factor. The compact form factor packs a high-performance, high-density
signaling environment into a small-footprint, 1U high chassis.
Meanwhile, the extended chassis option measures 4Us high and provides
greater cross connect and hardware redundancy.
Cylogistics provides on-site signaling expertise to its customers
to help them troubleshoot network interconnection issues. The company
also offers comprehensive after-sales support, including documentation,
training, and custom extension programming.
