Telchemy,(r) Incorporated, Suwanee, Geo., the global leader in
Voice over IP (VoIP) Fault and Performance Management technology,
announced that Acterna, the leader in test and management solutions for
consumer and business broadband communications, has expanded their use
of Telchemy's VQmon(r)/SA VoIP analysis and call quality monitoring
technology.
The technology will be integrated into Acterna's market
leading DA-3600A and DA-3400 Data Network Analyzers, PVA-1000 VoIP
Analyzer, Digital Services Activation Meter (DSAM) and Remote Services
Activation Meter (RSAM). For service providers and enterprises,
Acterna's VoIP Analysis Software provides a comprehensive suite of
problem-solving capabilities necessary to deploy, troubleshoot and
maintain today's complex VoIP networks.
The DSAM and RSAM are part of Acterna's Application-Aware(tm)
suite of products that provide cable operators with tools that test
complete digital and IP services with simplicity, flexibility and ease.
Adding VoIP support to these leading edge products make them more
powerful than ever - VoIP deployment for network operators becomes
increasingly easier to manage with the ability to place and listen to a
live call, measuring the quality of the user-experience before going
live to the customer.
"We are very pleased to extend our relationship with Acterna,
the market leader in communications test equipment." said Alan
Clark, president and CEO of Telchemy, Incorporated. "By integrating
VQmon/SA into its key cable and telecommunications products, Acterna is
bringing the industry standard for VoIP performance monitoring to a
broad range of customers."
Network operators and system administrators use Telchemy's
VQmon technology to detect, monitor and resolve call quality and network
related problems for networked multi-media services, including Voice and
Video over IP, IP Centrex, 3G Cellular, Voice over WLAN, and streaming
audio/video. VQmon provides listening and conversational call quality
metrics in both R factor and MOS formats as well as detailed diagnostic
information, giving network managers both high level metrics and the
ability to drill down to identify specific problems. VQmon is the first
VoIP Performance Management software to support the new VoIP management
protocols, providing the essential metrics for the International
Engineering Task Force (IETF) RFC 3611 (RTCP XR) media path reporting
protocol and the QoS reporting protocols for SIP, H.323, MGCP and
Megaco.
