Chef Jack Amon of Anchorage was the first Alaska chef invited to showcase his talents at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program's "Cooking for Solutions," held recently in Monterey, Calif.

Amon prepared Alaska halibut for the event, which attracted 1,500 people. He conducted a cooking demonstration for select audiences the following day. The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute recommended that Amon be invited to join the roster of celebrity chefs.
