IRAQ - Kurdistan To Have One Govt.
The Kurdish parliament in Irbil on May 7 approved plans for the
eastern and western part of Kurdistan to have a single government and
for the PUK and KPP to be merged. An official announcement to that
effect was reported on May 7 by the BBC.
If those plans materialise as was announced, the union will be a
major development for the Kurdish communities of northern Iraq. The
joint government will be shared 50-50 by the two parties under their
planned merger is completed, according to the BBC.
