Exinda Networks, Seattle, has announced two new Application
Specific Analysis Modules (ASAM) that boost the network management
capabilities of its existing application acceleration solutions. The new
modules are Voice over IP (VoIP) and Citrix application monitoring.
Exinda's VoIP tracking module tracks Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP) based call information including phone numbers, call
duration and CODEC being used. The VoIP module tracks and reports in
real-time on network utilization. Exinda's detailed reports help to
identify top callers and receivers on the network and how they consume
network resources. This information is highly useful for establishing
network policies and network infrastructure planning. According to an
Infonetics Research study entitled User Plans for VoIP, North America,
2006, 36 percent of large businesses are already using VoIP equipment
and services.
Exinda's Citrix tracking module enables enterprises to
classify and track Citrix Published Applications within Independent
Computing Architecture (ICA) sessions. The module monitors which
applications are being used, allowing the network manager to create the
most efficient acceleration policies.
More than 180,000 organizations around the world use the Citrix
Access Platform including all of the Fortune 100 companies and 98
percent of the Fortune Global 500.
"Network managers need a solution that marries application
acceleration and application visibility," said Con Nikolouzakis,
founder and executive director of Exinda Networks. "Exinda is one
of the few vendors that provide customers with complete control of their
infrastructure, both at a technical and a corporate level."
Beta Testers Praise Exinda's New Modules
Mornington Peninsula, a local government organization, beta tested
Exinda's new VoIP and Citrix firmware. "With the new modules,
we have gained greater visibility into our key Citrix application
delivery system," said Daniel Stacey, information technology
administration officer at Mornington Peninsula. "We can now focus
on the top five published applications being used. Exinda eliminates the
guess work. Now, we can prioritize network services to better match
business requirements."
Availability
The new modules can be downloaded from the Exinda website at no
cost for the 4700, 4800, 6700 or 6800 hardware platforms. The new
firmware will also be available with the next service firmware in the
third quarter of 2006.
