Two new cargo carriers, Cargo 360 and Shanghai Airlines, have scheduled service at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
Cargo 360 Inc. initiated cargo service between Seoul, Korea and New York via Anchorage. Cargo 360 is a new U.S. cargo carrier based in Seattle. The new cargo airline landed its first flight in Anchorage recently using a Boeing 747. The eight weekly cargo flights are being operated exclusively for Korean Air Cargo.
Shanghai Airlines Co. Ltd. initiated six weekly cargo flights between Shanghai and Los Angeles via Anchorage in July. Shanghai Airlines will be utilizing the landing rights made available by the 2004 U.S.-China aviation agreement.
Shanghai Airlines executives flew to Beijing recently to meet with ANC Marketing Director Linda Close to finalize the requirements for their entrance into the Anchorage market. Shanghai also had a team in Anchorage recently to finalize operational details.
