The Bad Ass Coffee Co., which recently introduced a "Cup O' Joe for a Soldier" program matching willing donors with soldiers overseas, says it has been helping both civilians and soldiers.
"We were surprised that we are getting as many letters from donors who appreciate the opportunity to send a gift to soldiers overseas as we have from the soldiers receiving the coffee," said Dan Ronnow, Director of Distribution for Bad Ass Coffee. The company said it has procured more than 600 donors since the beginning of the program.
One such donor is Zandi Wilcox who said: "I received an e-mail from a soldier I sent coffee to and am really touched by it."
The letter, sent by an experienced Marine Major Sergeant Roger G. Werthmann said: "packages sent by civilians help the morale of our Marines-the young ones who are on their first deployment, as well as the not-so-young 'seasoned ones' like myself."
The Cup O' Joe program is going on at each Bad Ass Coffee franchise throughout the world and online. The program allows interested donors to buy a large bag of Hawaiian Blends coffee in store or online for only $11.95 and The Bad Ass Coffee Company will ship it free to a specific soldier or field operation that has requested it. Both military members and donors can visit www.badasscoffee/cupojoe to sign up or for more information on the program.
