North slope spot price: steadily increasing.(Alaska Trends for September 2006)(Statistical table)

Alaska Trends, an outline of significant statewide statistics, is provided by the University of Alaska Center for Economic Development and sponsored by American Fast Freight.

The North Slope Spot Price steadily, but persistently, increased over the last year. As of July 19, 2006, the North Slope Spot Prices was $72.24 per barrel, compared to just $55.10 a year ago in July 2005. This denotes a 31 percent increase.

The increase from June to July 2006 was minor but significant. In the period of one month, the North Slope oil price increased from $66.93 to $72.24 per barrel. In itself, this represents a fairly significant increase of 7.93 percent in a single month's time.
