Junior Achievement inspires children to learn about free enterprise: keeping America the strongest economic force in the world w

Junior Achievement of Alaska's 21st Annual Alaska Business Hall of Fame unites the Alaska community to honor outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the Alaska economy and whose efforts have prompted the growth of Alaska business. Junior Achievement of Alaska and Alaska Business Monthly would like to congratulate the class of 2007 laureates: Ron Cosgrave & Bruce Kennedy, Ron Duncan, Clarence Kramer, Betsy Lawer, and Helvi Sandvik.

This year's event will take place on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel. Approximately 400 industry and business leaders will join in commemorating the accomplishments of our laureates and the success of Alaska business. We would like to invite all past laureates. Junior Achievement alumni, and supporters to join us in honoring our laureates and the continuing positive impact of Junior Achievement economic education programs in Alaska.

Events over the past few years have challenged our free-enterprise system, as well as our economic stability. The leaders of tomorrow are watching with great interest how today's leaders will respond. As Americans, we have the responsibility to protect and preserve our nation's free-enterprise system. The long-term guarantee that our economy will remain the strongest in the world rests in the education of our children.

Junior Achievement provides an extraordinary opportunity to help our young people understand and appreciate the tremendous value of our system of commerce.

Junior Achievement's sequential and integrated kindergarten though 12th grade programs give students the necessary skills to be successful. This year, nearly 9,000 Alaska students will participate and learn through Junior Achievement's business, economics and free-enterprise lessons. Our mission is to ensure that every child in our state has a fundamental understanding of how our free-enterprise system works.

Junior Achievement is comprised of passionate volunteers inspiring students to learn the economics of life through free-enterprise education. These passionate, caring adults include our teachers, who open the doors to this unique dimension of learning; our volunteers, who are the heart of Junior Achievement's learn-by-doing approach; and our investors, whose generosity has turned classrooms into learning laboratories of the future. These people dedicate their precious time, energy and resources to change the lives of young people. They wholeheartedly want Alaska's youth to succeed.

We need your commitment to reach children in our state. We need you to reinforce the importance of free enterprise in our successful democracy. We need you to be a part of Junior Achievement's purpose and mission. Our children are the future. Let their success be your inspiration!
