ITC^DELTACOM UNVEILS NETWORK UPGRADE TO DELIVER VOICE/DATA.

Networks Update • Feb 1, 2007 •

ITC^DeltaCom, Inc., Huntsville, Ala., a provider of integrated communications services to customers in the southeastern United States, has announced the implementation of a network upgrade that will immediately enable multi-meg services (up to 6 Mbs) in sixteen markets and the future delivery of VoIP services and features.

The high bandwidth solution, which will be offered under the name Simpli- IP, provides customers with bandwidth up to 6Mbs in data throughput. The offering increases the bandwidth options available with Simpli-Business, Deltacom's solution that combines the options of Local, Long Distance, an NEC phone system and Lexmark office equipment all bundled on a single invoice. The service is MPLS enabled to ensure quality transmission of voice and data traffic.

"The demand for higher bandwidth Internet and site to site data traffic continues to increase in the marketplace. Customers have traditionally purchased separate connections with additional equipment to enable higher speeds, leading to increased cost and complexity. This upgrade addresses those issues by consolidating voice and data communication over the same connection and increasing available bandwidth," said ITC^DeltaCom's EVP, Jim O'Brien.

"This network upgrade delivers bandwidth options of up to 6Mbs immediately in 16 markets while enabling us to create VoIP service offerings not possible with our prior network architecture," added Scott Yelton Director, Product Strategy. "We are committed to continuing to develop innovative products to better serve our customers."
