Several dozen visitors braved a cold November rain to tour Marlboro
Mushrooms as part of the annual American Farmland Trust national
conference, "Farming on the Edge: The Next Generation." Hosted
by the Delaware Department of Agriculture, the conference sought to
bring together people who care about America's rural legacy, land
use and the future of farming and ranching. Participants and presenters
shared information, ideas and networked, to form partnerships to achieve
a healthy balance among sustainable agriculture and sustainable
development, farmland protection and environmental quality.
