The FDA has approved Kenilworth, New Jersey-based Schering-Plough Corporation's Noxafil (posaconazole) oral suspension, indicated to prevent invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections in patients 13 years of age and older who are severely immunocompromised. The drug is the only antifungal agent approved for the prevention of infections caused by the Aspergillus species.
