The FDA approved several abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) for generic versions of intravenous ciprofloxacin, the prototype fluoroquinolone drug, which is used to treat certain bacterial infections. It is packaged in 20- and 40-mL vials, and a 120-mL pharmacy bulk package. These products are manufactured by multiple generic companies.
