King Pharmaceuticals, based in Bristol, Tennessee, will purchase
Avinza (morphine sulphate extended release) from Ligand Pharmaceuticals,
Inc. (San Diego). King will pay $265 million for the rights to the
product in the United States, its territories, and Canada, and will
assume product-related liability obligations.
