Overall, the North Slope Spot Price decreased in the past last year. As of Jan. 30, 2007, the North Slope Spot Price was $54.37 per barrel, compared to just $58.46 in January 2006. This denotes a 16 percent yearly decrease.
The decrease over the last month was even more significant. In the period of one month, December 2006 to January 2007, the North Slope oil price decreased from $64.93 to $54.37 per barrel-just over a $10 difference in a relatively short period of time. At a minimum, this disparity certainly indicates volatility in the market.
