Administrator Steven C. Preston of the U.S. Small Business Administration announced the appointment of Joseph Tolliver, Trailboss Enterprises CEO and president, to the SBA's National Advisory Council.
"I am honored to be able to counsel the SBA about Alaska small-business issues as well as assist SBA in reaching out to create economic opportunities for small-business owners in Alaska," said Tolliver.
The NAC serves as a key private-sector advisory group to SBA, Congress, and the president on small-business issues. The council includes small-business owners and leaders who volunteer their time over the course of a two-year appointment to provide the SBA with diverse and expert advice, ideas and opinions on small-business issues and SBA programs nationwide. Trailboss Enterprises Inc. is a minority-owned small business providing contract government services worldwide. Tolliver was named "Minority Small Business Person of the Year" in 2000 by the SBA and was recognized by the African American Cultural Society in 1998 for his outstanding contributions to the community.
