First Alaskans Institute announced new staff members. Tracy L. Craig, an Ahtna/Gwich'in Athabascan and Yup'ik, is the director of finance and oversees the organization's financial responsibilities to ensure high standards of accountability, excellence and professionalism. She most recently worked at Cook Inlet Tribal Council and has nine years experience in finance and accounting. Rick Mueller, a Tlingit originally from Ketchikan, is the new intern coordinator. His primary responsibility is to coordinate the day-to-day activities of First Alaskans Institute's Summer Internship Program for college students and recent graduates, as well as assist with other leadership development initiatives. Mueller has a degree in health education from Northern Arizona University and most recently worked for Cook Inlet Tribal Council and its youth opportunity program. Adrienne Fleek joined the organization as research projects manager for the Alaska Native Policy Center, where she is responsible for working with the newly designated Census Information Center and managing other policy center projects. Fleek, a Tlingit who spent her formative years in Southwest Alaska and grew up in Anchorage, was formerly with the Environmental Protection Agency's Indian Environmental General Assistance Program. She holds a master's degree in public administration. Tanya Reamey, a Tlingit and Aleut from Klukwan, is an administrative assistant. She previously worked for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.
