The speakers
ANNE CHARETTE-TYLER, CHRP
President of The Burke Group
A Certified Human Resources ProfessionaI, Anne Charette-Tyler began
her career in recruitment and human resources consulting twenty-five
years ago. Her significant knowledge in the review, facilitation, and
development of human resources disciplines, at both a functional and
strategic level, has established The Burke Group (founded in 1979) as a
highly respected full-service management and HR consulting firm.
Anne has had considerable involvement in the development of high
performance organizations. Her involvement in large-scale organizational
change programs has included establishing strategies with senior
management, facilitating organizational redesign and assisting
organizations to examine current management practices. Her background
and training in business development combined with her HR knowledge
creates a unique set of competencies that assist organizations in
aligning their strategic plans to achieve their overall organizational
objectives. As a successful business owner/operator, Anne has been
nominated for the Niagara Entrepreneur Award and Canadian Women
Entrepreneur.
While dedicated to her business, Anne has always been an active
contributor to the profession and the community, both individually and
corporately. Anne is currently Past-President of the Canadian Council of
Human Resources Association (CCHRA). She has also served as
Vice-President of the North American Human Resources Management
Association (NAHRMA). Through her active involvement with NAHRMA, Anne
represented Canada at the Human Resources World Congress in Mexico.
Previously Anne held the role of President of the Human Resources
Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPAO). The HRPAO is recognized as
the leading voice for the human resources profession in Ontario,
comprising over 14,000 members.
Anne has extensive volunteer experience, having served on several
Boards and Committees as well as actively participating in the areas of
economic development, education and health services at a local level.
That experience, combined with twenty-five years as an entrepreneur,
enables Anne to bring a new focus of leadership to organizations
throughout Canada and abroad.
DR. CHRIS BART, C.A.
Dr. Chris Bart is the world's leading authority on
organizational mission and vision statements. He is the Founder,
Principal and Lead Professor of The Directors College at McMaster
University, Canada's first and only university accredited corporate
director education program. Dr. Bart is also the author of one of
Canada's best sellers for business, "A Tale of Two Employees
and the Person Who Wanted to Lead Them".
Through his pioneering research and teachings, Dr. Bart has become
highly sought after by organizations seeking to develop vision and
mission statements that get results. His practical approach for bringing
mission statements to life has inspired business leaders and audiences
around the world.
As a Professor of Strategic Market Leadership (Strategy and
Governance) at McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business,
Dr. Bart has published over 50 articles, cases and reviews. He currently
serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Business
Governance & Ethics. He is also an innovator. In 1993, he helped
establish the Management of Innovation and New Technology Research
Centre at McMaster and was its first Director. Later, he devised and
created the Innovation Management Network; a worldwide association of
academics and practitioners who collaborate through the internet on
matters of innovation and new technology.
Recently, Dr. Bart has been awarded the Ontario Chamber of Commerce
Outstanding Business "Achievement Award for Corporate
Governance" and the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce "HR Hero
Award". A highly regarded lecturer, Dr. Bart has received both the
"Outstanding Undergraduate Business Professor" and "MBA
Professor of the Year" on multiple occasions. He has also won
"The President's Award for Teaching Excellence",
McMaster's highest teaching award--which made him the most
decorated professor at the DeGroote School. Over the years, Dr. Bart has
been invited to lecture at numerous institutions throughout the world,
including South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Czech
Republic and China.
Dr. Bart is listed in both the Canadian Who's Who and the
International Business Who's Who of Professionals and has been a
director on many Boards.
