Red Hat appoints technology leader in Greater
China.
Red Hat, Inc. have announced the appointment of Andrew Hu as
President of Red Hat Operations in Greater China. Hu will be responsible
for overall operations, business development, marketing and sales in the
region and will report to the President of Red Hat Asia-Pacific
Operations, Gery Messer.
Most recently, Hu held the position of President, Asia Pacific at
Wyse, a global leader in thin client computing solutions. In this role,
Hu oversaw Wyse's corporate strategy including the building of thin
client hardware and software solutions for deployment in the Asia
Pacific market, with a particular emphasis on the market requirements of
China, Korea and Japan. With more than 20 years of professional IT
management experience in North America and Asia, Hu also served as the
Director of Greater China at Network Appliance, a world leader in
unified storage solutions, where he was responsible for driving the
company's expansion in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. Hu
also previously held a number of roles at Oracle China, including
Managing Director with overall responsibility for the company's
sales and support operations in China. "It is a very exciting time
for open source and I look forward to helping Red Hat realize its
potential in the Greater China market", said Hu who will based in
Beijing. With organizations under greater pressure to achieve more with
less, there are now more reasons than ever for IT decision makers to
consider open source for their mission-critical systems.
