QP has a linear alkyl benzene (LAB) built at Mesaieed next to the
refining complex. Commissioned in late 2005, this uses kerosine from the
refinery. The FEED was done by Foster Wheeler, which was also the PMC.
The technology licensor is UOP.
The $260m venture consists of an 80,000 t/y normal paraffin unit
and a 100,000 t/y LAB plant.
