The June 2007 index that measures overall confidence in the Czech economy declined 0.5 points when compared with May 2007. When compared with June 2006, the composite confidence index, as it is called, increased 1.5 points. The statistics were compiled by the Czech Statistical Office (CSU), and the source of the press report was the Interfax Central Europe wire on June 27, 2007.

At the same time, the CSU told Interfax that the CSU's composite business index fell from 106.5 in May 2007 to 106.1 in June 2007. The business confidence indicator increased 2.5 points in June 2007 when compared with June 2006.

The CSU's consumer confidence indicator decreased 2.7 points in June 2007 when compared with June 2006.

The CSU said, "The survey taken among consumers in June [2007] indicates that consumers expect improvement of both the general economic situation and their own financial standing compared to May 2007."
