The federal minimum wage is set to increase $2.10 over the next two years. The increase is in effect or will take effect as follows:

* July 24, 2007, federal minimum wage increases to $5.85 per hour

* July 24, 2008, federal minimum wage increases to $6.55 per hour

* The final increase (to $7.25 per hour) will take place in 2009

Employers are required to display a sign explaining the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in a noticeable location in all of their establishments. A new poster explaining the minimum wage increase is available from the Department of Labor at: http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance/posters/flsa.htm
