LexisNexis (New York) has launched Juris Active Information
Business Intelligence module, the first product launch since LexisNexis
acquired Juris (Nashville, TN) in July. The new law firm practice module
builds on the existing Juris product line and is the second of three
modules to be released under the Active Information product umbrella,
which currently includes the Core Reporting module. The third module,
Budgeting and Forecasting, will be released near the end of this year.
Business Intelligence provides the following: a visual
"dashboard" that converts both daily management information
and business metric information into visual images, charts and graphs;
the ability to utilize an "alert" feature that is triggered by
rules or exceptions custom set to follow business metrics and/or firm
success factors; and, a business metrics library with most of the common
metrics currently used by mid-market law firms. LexisNexis VP/GM said
the Core Reporting module "has been extremely successful to date
and we have had several clients who preordered the Business Intelligence
module."
In related company news, LexisNexis held the first ever Latin
American conference on the Rule of Law in Mexico City on September
l3-14. The meeting was attended by government and business professionals
as well as by members of the judiciary to discuss the Rule of Law, that
is, equal treatment for both nationals and foreigners, as a critical
component of economic development in the region. It was sponsored by a
variety of legal and economic organizations, including the National Law
Center for Inter-American Free Trade (Tucson, AZ), the Inter-American
Bar Association (Washington, D.C.) and the Cuban American Bar
Association (Miami, FL).
