IndigoMedia, digital multimedia experience, has received the World
Summit Award for e-content, e-creativity and e- entertainment. The Award
recognizes Indigo's innovation and global leadership in creating
high-quality e-content.
Combining multimedia design with cutting-edge editorial content,
IndigoMedia's unique platform provides users an online experience
that leverages the functionality of the web into a new kind of story
telling. Content ranges from politics and economics, through lifestyle,
culture, technology and sports, and is experienced through broadcasting,
streaming and delivery-on-demand.
The World Summit Awards were started in 2003 in the framework of
the United Nations World Summit on Information Society as an initiative
from Austria and has become the world's premier contest for
excellence in e-content and e-creativity. This year a jury of leading
international multimedia experts considered 24,000 nominations from
around the world. Forty companies, professional organizations, and
government agencies were named World Summit Award winners.
Professor Peter Bruck, chairman of the board, World Summit Award,
said, "The WSA is a unique mechanism to search and find out which
quality contents exist around the world and how they meet criteria such
as depth of content, ease of use, value adding of interactivity,
aesthetics of design and interface, and technical realization."
The e-entertainment category evaluates the quality and creativity
of interactive entertainment, synergy between analog and digital
platforms, and success in moving from one-way to two-way communication.
In addition to e- entertainment, WSA's were given for achievement
in e-government, e-learning, e-health, e-culture and e-science.
Ramon Alberto Garza, founder and CEO of IndigoMedia, received the
award at the Annual Conference of the Global Forum on Shaping the Future
in Venice, Italy. According to Mr. Garza, "We are deeply honored to
receive the World Summit Award for e-entertainment. Indigo's
success is a good reflection of the enthusiasm in Mexico for innovative
online content. But it also demonstrates how the digital revolution is
breaking down barriers among counties and cultures. I believe that the
IndigoMedia experience can and will quickly spread beyond Mexico."
IndigoMedia, an online media company based in Monterrey, Mexico has
pioneered web based multimedia experiences that provide a wide range of
content to users based on a proprietary platform and a unique style of
story telling. Launched in 2006, IndigoMedia now provides political,
economic, cultural, lifestyle, sports, fashion and other content to more
than 100,000 users through a series of weekly, online verticals
