The Bureau of Land Management in Alaska has appointed John Gould as manager of the Alaska Fire Service in Fairbanks. He started his BLM career in 1976 as a firefighter in Glennallen and later worked as a smokejumper in Fairbanks. He most recently worked as Bureau of Indian Affairs national fire program safety manager at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.
