Anthony Edwardsen was chosen president and chief executive for Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., an Alaska Native village corporation based in Barrow. He was appointed for a three-year term. Edwardsen has served on the UIC board of directors since 1998, performing roles as vice president and most recently as president. Edwardsen, a lifelong Barrow resident, has extensive management experience and community service activity, including membership in the Barrow Whaling Captains Association.
