The Dow Chemical Company's polyurethane carpet backing
technology addresses assisted living facilities' demands, such as
durability, maintenance, and roller mobility, without compromising
flooring design. The polyurethane molecular structure of DOW[TM]
ENHANCER[TM] Technology allows the backing to absorb the pounding of
foot traffic and support the heavy weight of furniture. ENHANCER also
reduces the crushing and matting of carpet in high-traffic areas such as
hallways and lobbies. The backing also impedes liquid and dirt from
penetrating the subfloor, reducing the occurrence of wick-back stains
and odors and allowing for aggressive maintenance programs.
