* Back in the U.S. there's an international presence in Seattle, where 3 Greek Gods LLC has launched a new line of tradition-laced Pagoto Ice Krema, a Greek ice cream patterned after the company's successful Greek Gods yogurt. The new ice cream line prominently features the ingredient mastic, which is produced only from trees on the Greek island of Chios, and which is used in traditional Greek and Turkish ice creams. Mastic is reported to have a subtle spicy anise and clove-like flavor, which company co-founder Basel Nassar believes will complement the line's Greek ice cream flavors that include baklava, honey-pomegranate, and chocolata-fig. The company is marketing the new ice cream through Puget Sound-area PCC Markets and Metropolitan Markets with national distribution planned for 2008.
