In July, the Criminal Justice section of the American Bar
Association (Chicago, IL) published "Street Legal: A Guide to
Pre-trial Criminal Procedure for Police, Prosecutors and
Defenders," a new book that examines the Fourth Amendment and the
application of such terms as 'search,' 'seizure' and
'reasonable suspicion.' The book provides specific guidance on
pre-trial criminal procedure and explains what is allowable under Fourth
Amendment search and seizure law. Chapters cover: investigative
detention, traffic detention, arrest, use of force, interview and
interrogation, warrantless search and seizure, search warrants,
electronic media concerns, and canine search and seizure. Including
charts and guides, the new 400-page book costs $80.
