IPTV Corporation (Pink Sheets:IPTV), Los Angeles, continues to
build momentum and has selected Arqiva for DTH distribution giving IPTV
Transatlantic fiber connectivity, uplinking to the UK, and access to the
British Sky Broadcasting digital platform allowing the company to
operate as if it were a UK broadcaster.
Arqiva is positioned as the major gateway to Europe for American
broadcasters and allows IPTV to distribute its live and pre-recorded
television programming from its offices in Santa Monica, California
directly to the UK in a very cost efficient manner. IPTV CEO Jeff
Hultman states, "Partnering with a forward thinking technology
company such as Arqiva enhances our ability to distribute our content in
the UK and positions us to expand across Europe as we execute our
business plans. Arqiva brings us a total end-to-end distribution
solution, excellent customer service, and years of broadcast experience.
They are the perfect partner for our business."
For IPTV, using Arqiva simplifies distribution so that once the
content leaves their facilities in Santa Monica, all elements of the
onward distribution are taken care of by Arqiva. From Arqiva's
teleport in Los Angeles, content is delivered across the Atlantic by
fiber directly to one of Arqiva's many Eurobird multiplexes in the
UK. It then appears as part of the Sky direct-to-home (DTH) platform in
the UK as channel 670. "Rather than deal with multiple parties to
enable distribution outside the U.S., our customers only have to work
with one entity. We are a total end-to-end service package,"
explains Simon Thrush, senior vice president and head of Arqiva's
U.S. operations.
IPTV Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary,
International Broadcast Holdings, owns and operates U-Save network on
channel 670, a home shopping network utilizing multiple live auction
selling formats, on the British Sky Broadcasting network. The company
typically broadcasts approximately eight live hours of programming a day
from its headquarters in Santa Monica, California, complimented by
pre-recorded television shopping programming.
