Someday, someway.
by Gay, Julie
Convinced I wasn't reading as much new stuff as I used to
because I was just out of touch, I subscribed to Bookmarks a few years
ago. I resolved to read at least three books from each issue (three
books in two months' time seemed reasonable). Alas, being out of
touch wasn't my problem; being to busy to read was (it pains me
even to type that sentence). I have read about three books a year since
then--all recommended in the pages of Bookmarks. Funnily enough, what I
find more exciting than the prospect of one day having time to read
books is having time to devour each issue of Bookmarks within a day or
two of its arrival in my mailbox. My reading habits may have changed
over the years, and I may not have any time to read until the kids are
in college, but the one steadfast indulgence I refuse to sacrifice is my
date with Bookmarks. I save every issue, all marked up with pink
highlighter, knowing that all those great books will be there when I am
ready to be the reader I used to be.
Thank you for keeping me connected,
Julie Gay
