* Earlier in this issue we noted the conflict between ice cream
equipment vendors Avasoft and One-Shot. While they go at each other,
another vendor, in the same category of easy-to-operate, sanitary, small
footprint dispensing equipment, is going through a rebirth.
Florida-based Archibald Frozen Desserts reports that it has brought on a
new management team; adopted a new name; is hiring a national sales
organization; establishing a national service and support network'
and is rolling out "a fresh vision dedicated to invigorating the
industry." Archibald's new senior management team is led by
Basil Bennett, president and CEO; Michael D'Agostino, CFO and COO;
Michael Gambino, senior vice president of business development; and
Randy Scholtz, vice president of operations. Founded in 1996, Archibald
holds 14 patents (and several pending) related to its dispensing
technology, which includes its one-button, counter-top soft ice cream
dispenser, EROS (Extruded Refrigerated Operating System); and its
pre-packaged milkshake platform, Flavor Injected Blending Apparatus
(FIBA).
