* Datamonitor narrows its focus on exotic flavors in its new report "Creating Sensory Appeal: Sensory and Flavor Trends in Food and Drinks." The report notes exotic foods are being sampled today with greater intensity than in previous generations. "More frequent and diverse holiday experiences are resulting in shoppers trying to integrate cultures that they deem favorably into everyday life. Furthermore, immigration patterns are having a profound impact on food and beverage choices as migrant group preferences become normalized in the culture/country in which they migrate to." Despite the desire for new and different, many consumers still hold back with a lingering taste for traditional and nostalgic flavors.
