INTRODUCTIONS
PHANTOM POWER in an endpin jack preamp is now a reality! Schatten
Design has unveiled its new Artist II endpin jack preamp, whose unique
patent-pending design allows this new preamp to run from a nine-volt
battery or from phantom power.
A feature of this novel two-channel unit is its ability to use a
number of power options. Other features include a trim pot for each
channel with gain adjustable from zero to 20 db as well as the
availability of optional remotely mounted thumbwheel volume controls.
This preamp can handle any mixture of piezo pickups, magnetic pickups,
or microphones.
Also debuting at the NAMM show are new pickups for bozouki,
mandolin, mandola, and archtop guitar. Schatten Design, well known for
its ability to provide non-invasive and non-damaging pickup and jack
designs, continues this theme with the addition of new 1/4" output
jack assemblies with integrated volume controls for tricones, mandolins,
mandolas, bozoukis, archtops, and banjos.
