General Mills has named executives from electronics retail and the
banking industry to its board of directors. The food giant said Brad
Anderson, vice chairman and CEO of retailer Best Buy Co., and Lois Quam,
MD of alternative investments at investment bank Piper Jaffray, would
join the board. In September, General Mills promoted president and chief
operating officer Ken Powell to the position of CEO. Steve Sanger, who
held the dual roles of chairman and CEO for 12 years, has stayed on as
chairman of the Cheerios-to-Haagen Dazs firm.
