Andrews Publications, a unit of Thomson West (Eagan, MN), has begun
the publication of "Andrews Disaster Recovery Report," a new
litigation reporter that carries information and news related to
litigation arising from natural disasters. The newsletter is published
monthly and an annual subscription costs $138.
The newsletter is designed to offer updates on litigation related
to the full range of natural disasters and was launched to fill the
information void concerning litigation related to Hurricanes Katrina and
Rita. It currently covers not only litigation related to hurricanes but
also to landslides, earthquakes, tornadoes and wildfires, as well as
man-made disasters such as terrorist attacks and explosions. The
newsletter provides "news-style" stories on disaster recovery
litigation from initial filing through the life of the lawsuit.
A recent issue included stories on: a suit brought by homeowners
against 15 insurers over Katrina damage; State Farm's insistence
that exclusions bar Katrina coverage; arguments over the meaning of
'storm surge'; developments in Sen. Trent Lott's
litigation case against State Farm; a class action lawsuit involving
post-Katrina salvage contracts; a ruling that an insurer's World
Trade Center clients are entitled to loss of business income; deposition
arguments related to wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits
stemming from 9/11 attacks; and, a decision that insurance carriers are
not liable for a tenant's costs of defending lawsuits arising from
the 9/11 attacks.
Andrews publishes about 40 other litigation reporters in the areas
of business/finance, business/technology, employment law, insurance law,
product liability/personal injury law. And toxic tort/environmental law,
including "Automotive Litigation Reporter," Asbestos
Litigation Reporter," "Health Care Fraud Reporter" and
"Bankruptcy Litigation Reporter."
