Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. (New Rochelle, NY), the publisher of
journals and books in the areas of biotechnology, biomedical
research/life sciences, clinical medicine and surgery, and law, will
begin the publication of "Environmental Justice," a new
journal, with an issue in early 2008. It will be published four times in
2008 and an annual individual subscription costs $189 online and $225
for both print and online access. An annual institutional subscription
costs $365 online and $375 in print.
The new journal is targeted to attorneys, public health
professionals, environmental planners, legislators and related industry
professionals. It will focus on the legal challenges threatening and
adversely affecting the health and the well being of the general
populace, and especially minority and low-income populations. The title
is described as a law journal that "extends to industry and public
policy."
Content will cover legal challenges and lawsuits filed in attempts
to prevent harmful policies, projects and developments as well as issues
of compliance and enforcement, activism, and corrective actions. It will
also include information on the legal issues related to the adverse
health affects on populations who are most subject to health and
environmental hazards and the "complicated" issues inherent in
remediation, funding, relocation of facilities that pose hazardous risk
to health, and selection for new locations.
Other law-related journals published by Mary Ann Liebert include
"Biotechnology Law Report," published six times a year, the
quarterly "Election Law Journal" and "Gaming Law
Review," also published six times a year.
