A new product for medical malpractice lawyers called MedMal Reports
(medmalreports.com) creates a report of the expected medical malpractice
payout for a given case, based on the National Practitioner's
Databank. Produced by Cambridge Economics Group (West Des Moines, IA),
the custom reports are designed to give attorneys a "complete
picture" of the range of likely settlements and judgments in a
medical malpractice lawsuit. The service provides information about all
medical malpractice payments (settlements and judgments) since Jan. 31,
2004 for a given medical outcome and state. It includes data on total
amount paid, year of payment, age and gender of the patient,
patient's medical outcome, medical practitioner's age,
allegations, and the number of other practitioners involved.
