HARD CORE PHIL COLLINS fans created a bidding frenzy at the recent
David Foster Foundation gala, ultimately raising $240,000 to aid
children requiring organ transplants. To assist the Foundation, Gretsch
Drums donated a custom, autographed Phil Collins drum set for the
auction, and Gibraltar and Sabian outfitted the kit with hardware and
cymbals. Phil Collins also contributed, donating a trip to Los Angeles
to see Genesis in concert.
Bidding on the kit and concert tickets took off the moment the
gavel came down. One serious Genesis fan had bid $120,000 for the
package when another bidder stepped forward offering $120,000 for the
same package. A second kit was rounded up; Collins threw in additional
tickets; the David Foster & Friend Foundation netted $240,000.

Throughout David Foster & Friends' 21-year history over $8
million has been raised with the eventual goal of creating an endowment
large enough to ensure the David Foster Foundation will be able to help
families in need as his legacy.
