INTRODUCTIONS
SCHATTEN DESIGN WILL debut new pickup and jack assemblies at the
winter NAMM show. In keeping with the Schatten Design's reputation
for providing non-invasive and non-damaging pickup and jack designs, the
company will be showing new pickups for bouzouki, mandolin, mandola, and
archtop guitar. New 1/4" output jack assemblies with integrated
volume controls will complement these pickups. A new jack assembly with
volume control for banjo will be shown as well. The new bouzouki pickup
attaches to the existing bridge of the instrument, while the jack
assembly can be mounted to the underside of the tailpiece on most
bouzoukis.
Also debuting at NAMM is a unique new endpin jack preamp. The
patent-pending Artist II endpin jack preamp is a two-channel unit with a
number of powering options to chose from, including 9-volt and phantom
power. Other features include a trim pot for each channel with gain
adjustable from zero to 20 db as well as the availability of optional
remotely mounted thumbwheel volume controls. This preamp can handle any
mixture of piezo pickups, magnetic pickups, or microphones. Orders will
be taken for all acoustic pickups at the NAMM show.
