Peter Licato's musical instrument store in Brooklyn was wrecked by the explosion of a bomb planted in the doorway by blackmailers who had failed to extort money from him. A year ago Licato received a letter couched in the now familiar style, in which a the sum of $500 was demanded. The letter also contained the usual threat that harm would come to Licato and his family unless he instantly complied. Licato and his family were asleep in rooms behind the store when the bomb exploded. They were stunned and carried out by police officers.
