GMF-Gouda fourth generation dry peel remover
introduced.
GMF-Gouda has re-engineered its successful Brush-'n-Belt dry
peel remover to improve processing capacity and ease of use, maintenance
and cleaning.
The new dry model will be used in the potato and vegetable
processing industries and guarantees processing capacities up to 45 tons
per hour, 24 hours a day.
The weight brushes and shafts have been reduced by replacing two
stainless steel shaft ends with flanges, of which one is fixed mounted
in the machine and one allows axial movement for dismounting and
mounting of the brush. The basic pipes of the brushes are made of
lightweight material. The brush pipe itself is fully closed, thus
preventing water or dirt from entering into the pipe.
Brushes were also redesigned, decreasing their weight by 30%.
Taking brushes and shafts together, a weight reduction of almost 65% was
realized. This allows maintenance and replacement of brushes to be
easier and less labor intensive.

The Brush-'n-Belt's characteristic PVC belt, which
removes peel waste, was re-engineered on several points. The main
improvement was realized by changing the belt frame. Where previously
machines were fitted with spindles to lift the belt frame, the latest
generation makes use of smart hinge construction. This new system offers
a very smooth belt frame without obstructions, while replacement of the
belt itself has become easier.
