MBA updates: the latest on Indiana's graduate business programs.

Anderson University

Anderson University offers a traditional MBA program, designed for the working professional, that can be completed in 22 months. The program, which focuses on practical applications, is offered in four additional locations in central Indiana, including Carmel, Fishers, Indy-Northwest and Lawrence. The university's innovative, living-learning residential MBA program, available to students immediately following completion of their undergraduate degree, combines living quarters with dedicated classrooms and a business incubator. This program can be completed in 11 months. A dual degree program (MSN/MBA) combines a master of science in nursing with the MBA.

Ball State University

Ball State's Miller College of Business offers an MBA program that can be completed in one year full-time or two years part-time. Classes are offered one night per week, Monday through Thursday, The college "brings the classroom to the student" by providing offsite delivery in many locations throughout Indiana via live, interactive Internet-based video. Four concentrations are available: entrepreneurship, finance, production/operations management and information systems. Ball State's entrepreneurship program was listed among the best in the nation by U.5. News & World Report.

Bethel College

The MBA program at Bethel College is designed with the flexibility needed by today's working professionals. Students can begin a course at any time during the academic year and suspend study for a session or a semester, if necessary. Evening courses are scheduled one at a time, one session per week. At this pace, an MBA can be completed in 24 months. Taught by full-time faculty or credentialed professionals, the program emphasizes decisionmaking, analytical, communication, cross-cultural and research skills, as well as leadership and management.

Butler University

Working professionals can take classes at their own pace, and typically complete Butler's MBA program in two to two-and-a-half years. Classes are offered evenings and on Saturdays. Most classes meet once per week, with accelerated sessions in the summer. Butler works closely with community businesses and industry to provide various opportunities for experimental learning for students. Butler's Business Accelerator provides consulting services to businesses via teams comprised of professional consultants, Butler faculty and MBA and undergraduate students. Some courses are co-taught by a professor and a business executive to combine theory and practice. Concentrations are offered in finance, international business, leadership and marketing. There is also a master of professional accounting (MPAcc) program available.

DeVry University

In less than one year, DeVry students can earn their MBA onsite or online. Both full-time and part-time classes are available. Classes are also offered at Merrillville and are available evenings or weekends. DeVry's online program boasts advanced distance-learning methodology Students can select from a wide range of electives, such as accounting, finance, marketing, health services, hospitality management, international business to customize the program to meet their professional interests.

Indiana State University's MBA program is targeted at new professionals seeking to gain the necessary skills to reach the next level in their career advancement. Classes are held Monday through Thursday evenings on campus, and students have the option of attending full-time or part-time. Concentrations are offered in e-commerce, finance and accounting. Problem solving, strategic thinking, management of organizational change and managing a business in today's global environment are emphasized.

Indiana Tech's MBA program offers five areas of concentration: accounting, healthcare management, human resources, management and marketing, as well as three master of science degrees-management, engineering and organizational leadership. Indiana Tech has campuses in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Elkhart; satellite offices in Greenwood, Huntington, Merrillville, Plainfield, South Bend and Warsaw; and classes in 22 other locations.

The Kelley School of Business full-time MBA program has a unique academy structure: Students are admitted to one of eight career-focused academies (business marketing, consulting, consumer marketing, corporate finance, entrepreneurial management, investment banking, investment management, supply chain and global management) and receive three weeks of intensive training and immersion in that specific area during the course of the program. A separate academy, Academy PLUS Life Sciences in combination with IU Healthcare and Life Sciences, is also available.

An evening MBA program meets each fall on the IUPUI campus and at Carmel. The program is designed for students who have the additional responsibility of career and family

Kelley Direct, the online program offerings of the Kelley School of Business, features customized corporate programs, certificate programs, master of science and dual-degree programs as well as the MBA program. The Kelley Direct MBA program focuses on general administration--business ethics, marketing, operations, information technology and project management.

Overseas study programs in countries located from Africa to South America are available, as is the Kelley International Perspectives. KIPs is a seven-week course with a 10- to 12-day field trip to a specific country and complements all MBA tracks.

IUK's internationally accredited MBA program is designed to meet the needs of both working professionals and employers in north-central Indiana. Taking the regional industry base in consideration, the program focuses on managing in a changing environment. All required classes are offered in two formats (eight-week and 16-week) that are offered in alternating years. A minimum of 30 credit hours is needed for completion. Students without a business degree may need up to an additional 18 hours of core courses. Degree requirements must be completed within six years of admission.

Most MBA students at IUSB are working professionals who attend part-time, taking advantage of the wide variety of courses offered during evenings. The program emphasizes the development of students' breadth of focus, imagination and creativity, although there are opportunities for specialization.

Located 10 minutes from downtown Louisville, Indiana University Southeast's MBA program serves working professionals in both southern Indiana and Louisville. Both full-time and part-time MBA studies are available, and the program offers a master of science in Strategic Finance (MSSSF), an interdisciplinary program catering primarily to finance and accounting professionals. IUS provides students with a challenging, innovative and supportive learning environment that enables students to achieve their potential.

Indiana University Northwest offers a fast-track MBA program designed for working professionals wanting to obtain MBAs on a part-time basis. The 30-credit-hour core classes can be completed within 20 months while attending classes two nights per week. No weekend classes are required. Students with an undergraduate degree in another field can complete the MBA program in 24 to 33 months, depending on the number of foundation classes they need.

Participants in IPFW's MBA program can complete their MBA in 18 months to two years attending classes in the evening and on occasional weekends. The program is designed to prepare students and working professionals to become managers and leaders capable of making effective and ethical business decisions in a rapidly changing global environment. The Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences is the only AACSB-accredited business school in northeast Indiana.

A certificate in entrepreneurship is available in cooperation with the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center and the Small Business Development Center. The school also offers students pursuing their MBA an opportunity to study at the Grenoble Ecole de Management in Grenoble, France, for a semester.
