"Peer-to-Peer Networking and Applications" will carry
"state-of-the-art" research and development results that help
facilitate effective deployment of P2P networking and applications. Its
mission is to encourage interaction between academic and industrial
professionals and to promote further research that leads to new P2P
applications and services.
Content will not only cover research topics related to networking
and communications theory, but also to the standardization, economic and
engineering aspects of P2P technologies and their impact on software
engineering, computer engineering, networked communications and
security. It will be published twice in 2008 and quarterly beginning in
2009.
Springer has also begun the quarterly publication of "Swarm
Intelligence," a journal that reports on research and developments
in the field of swarm intelligence, including the theoretical,
experimental and practical aspects of swarm intelligence. Content covers
such issues as: modeling and analysis of biological systems, including
human crowds; the application of swarm intelligence models to problems
associated with distributed computing, data clustering, and decision
making; and, research in insect colonies, human behavior and swarm
robotics.
Finally, Springer has launched "Biosemiotics," a
quarterly journal that provides access to papers on the emerging
discipline of biosemiotics and biological theory. The official
publication of the International Society for Biosemiotic Studies, the
new title is targeted to a wide range of professionals in disciplines
ranging from social semiotics to community ecology, communication
science and artificial intelligence. The first issue includes articles
on: molecular semiotics; the investigation for a genetic protolanguage;
perception in sensing and cognitive processes; and, an overview of
biosemiotics.
