Management
M&F Worldwide Corp. (New York) has entered a definitive
agreement to acquire the Data Management (Bloomington, MN) business of
Pearson (Upper Saddle River, NJ) for $225 million in cash, subject to
post-closing adjustments.
Data Management is a Pearson unit that designs, manufactures and
services scannable data collection products, including printed forms,
scanners and related software, and provides survey consulting and
tracking services, including medical device tracking, to corporate and
government clients.
The acquired assets also provide K-12 and post-secondary
institutions gather data for surveys, testing and research on assessment
solutions, school and district improvement initiatives, test scoring and
records management. Pearon's Data Management businesses generated
over $114 million in revenue in 2007.
M&F is an indirect parent of Scantron Corporation, a company
that helps education and commercial organizations measure and improve
their effectiveness with assessment and survey solutions.
Scantron's products and services include scannable forms, scanning
equipment, survey services and testing software.
