A number of magazines have recently closed. PennWell (Nashua, NH)
has closed "Woman Dentist." Launched in 2003, it was published
seven times a year for a controlled circulation of 26,000 female
dentists. Cahaba Media (Birmingham, AL) has closed "Plumbing
Business Owner," a monthly launched in 2007 for a controlled
circulation of 30,000 plumbing business owners. "Card
Technology" magazine, closed by SourceMedia (New York), was
published nine times a year for a controlled circulation of 22,500
professionals in the credit card market. CMP (Manhasset, NY) has ceased
print publication of "Electronics Supply & Manufacturing,"
a monthly launched in 2004 for a controlled circulation of 40,000 OEM
and MS managers with global responsibilities. "Apply,"
discontinued by Penton Media (Minneapolis, MN) was launched in 2001 to
cover the agricultural chemical, fertilizer, custom application and
grain handling businesses. It was published eight times a year for a
controlled circulation of 22,000 retailers and custom applicators. GIE
Media (Cleveland, OH), a company whose titles include "Lawn &
Landscape" and "Recycling Today," among others, has
ceased publication of "Interior Landscape Business," a 1999
launch that was published six times a year for 6000 interior
landscapers. Finally, Douglas Publications (Richmond, VA) has closed
"Compliance Magazine," a title launched in 1994 and published
eight times a year for a controlled circulation of 53,000 safety and
compliance professionals.
