TransTech Pharma and its PharmaCore spinoff agreed to stay in High Point and add more than 200 high-paying jobs within five years. In return, they will get nearly $10 million in state and local incentives. TransTech, which develops drugs to treat disorders of the central nervous system, cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity and diabetes, will add about 155 workers, bringing its total to 240. PharmaCore, which makes drugs for TransTech and others, will add 50, giving it 90. Average salary for the new jobs is expected to be about $96,000 a year, compared with the Guilford County average of $36,712.
