Straddling waterfalls with its wings unfurled, the home of
Lowe's Cos. was no do-it-yourself project. Finished in 2003, the
five-level, 400,000-square-foot building sits on 157 acres in
Mooresville. About 2,000 work here. Before moving, the nation's No.
2 home-improvement retailer had its headquarters in a renovated
one-story shopping mall in North Wilkesboro, the town where it was
founded in 1946.
