Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways plans to start all-premium flights out of Doha on
medium-haul routes, CEO Akbar Al Baker said at last week's ITB
tourism fair in Berlin, and aircraft configured with an all-first-class
cabin should be operating by year end. Al Baker declined to reveal the
type of aircraft or how many will be used on the new service. He
anticipates a demand for up to 20 regional aircraft serving at least 10
destinations in the Middle East. It is unclear whether Qatar Air is
shopping at Bombardier, Embraer or both. Mar 10, 2008
