The 6-GHz NI USB-5680 Power Meter combines a sensor and an A/D converter in one package occupying less than 9.6 in.[.sup.3] and consuming 100-mA of current without an external power supply. It connects directly to an available USB port on any PC or PXI controller. The true rms power meter features a frequency range of 50 MHz to 6 GHz, a dynamic range of 63 dB, and amplitude accuracy of [+ or -]0.18 dB.

To measure continuous wave RF signals up to 6 GHz, the USB-5680 can be used in a stand-alone configuration with a VXIplug & play-compatible executable soft front panel to facilitate interactive control. To incorporate the USB-5680 in an automated test and measurement system, an intuitive application programming interface can be used with programming environments such as LabVIEW, LabWINDOWs/CVI, and Microsoft .NET.
